The Project

“I am ME (most extraordinary)” is a photography project that aims to EDUCATE, ADVOCATE, and MAINSTREAM beauty in difference.

It was created by photographer and mother of 3 Stephanie Hamilton of Nektar, inspired by her daughter Ruby who has Down Syndrome.

The project features the stories of special people in Dubai, with an aim to bring awareness to the value of their lives, as well as to bring to light the challenges that they face on a daily basis.

I am ME (most extraordinary) has highlighted issues such as; inclusion, the high costs of raising a child with special needs, and accessibility to name a few.

Plans for the project include; awareness books to educate medical and educational staff, a community art project, and multi-media exhibition.
